NEW FEATURE!

Don’t want to wait for a game to ship? Or maybe you have people across the country who want to play together? Our virtual games are for you. Simply pick one of our virtual games below, check out with it, and we will send the game link instantly to your email for you to play. Share the link with your friends and teammates and jump on Zoom or your favorite way to communicate online. The entire team will have access to the game at the same time and you can see what each player is doing! Open locked objects, move around evidence, watch videos, and escape the room from the comfort of your own homes! This is a great alternative to the regular Escape the Crate adventures.

These games are separate from the subscription games and retired adventures. These are one-time purchase games, which can only be played once. After finishing the game, they are unable to be played again or be reset to the starting position.

VIRTUAL GAMES F.A.Q.’s

+ How much are the virtual games?

Virtual games cost $19.99 USD for the entire group. One player orders the game and can share the link with teammates. ONLY ONE player needs to order.

+ What are the virtual game themes?

Right now, we have 10 games available. "Escape the Yeti" is a brand new game made specifically for this new system. "Escape the Spymistress" is a digital version of our first box and Escape the Queen Anne's Revenge is a digital version of our second. Escape the Colosseum is our third game from the subscription series and "Escape: The Trials of Houdini" is the fourth. "Escape the Lost Colony" was the fifth game of the subscription. Escape: Extinction was the sixth game of the subscription. Our hardest virtual game so far is our sixth game from the subscription, "Escape: The Heist of Bonnie and Clyde." These boxes are not available for purchase as a physical product, so these virtual games are a perfect way to experience these older games. A holiday game, Escape: Reindeer Games, which is designed for families, is available year round if you want to get your holiday fix. We also have a spooky and silly halloween game, Escape: Farmyard Frights. Over the next few years, we will be adding new games every few months. Be sure to sign up for our email list or follow us on social media for updates about new releases.

+ How many players can play?

We recommend 1-6 players per game. If you have more than 6 players, not everyone will be able to participate if you all play in the same game session together. For larger groups, simply order multiple game codes and divide them among your players to create smaller groups. You can even race between teams to see who finishes first.

+ Can I play solo?

Yes! Our game certainly can be played solo. There are several puzzles, however, that are designed to be solved with multiple players present to help share information with each other. Therefore, you might find it helpful to snap some photos with your cell phone camera of the screen of some ciphers to avoid having to click back and forth to solve some puzzles.

+ How can we play together with other teammates in other locations?

Simply share the game code with your teammates and they will be able to log in to the game with you. You can see icons of where they are looking and playing in the game. If you want to talk to them while playing, simply turn on your video-conferencing program of choice (Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, etc.) Have this on in the background so you can hear each other while playing. The host does NOT need to share their screen for other players to see what is going on, as everyone has their own game links. (We do recommend wearing headphones to avoid audio-bleeding into the conversation).

+ How long does it take?

The game is designed to be played in about an hour. Extremely experienced escapers usually take about 45 minutes to escape, while newer players take closer to 75 minutes. There is a timer in the game, but you can keep playing after the clock hits zero. Remember, however...once you start playing the game, you have 72 hours in which to finish it.

+ Can we pause the game in the middle and come back to finish it?

Yes! You can close out of the game and log back in later to continue playing where you left off. However, if you are playing with other people and they keep playing after you leave, you will have to rejoin where they are at. Remember that you only have 72 hours after starting the game in which to finish it. If you pause the game, you will still need to finish it within 72 hours of first logging in.

+ What are the technical requirements?

Our virtual games are run from the Telescape Live system. This system should be run from a laptop or computer and does not work well on mobile devices. Due to audio puzzles in the game, players must have the ability to hear audio in game. If playing with multiple players over video-conferencing, please consider wearing headphones to avoid feedback with the audio.

+ Are these part of the subscription?

No. Our virtual games are not a part of the subscription and are one-time purchases.

+ Are the virtual games replacing the retired boxes or subscription games?

No. Since the pandemic started, we have recieved hundreds of requests for virtual games that can be played across the country quickly and safely...without waiting for our boxes to arrive in the mail. These games are made to fill that need. Our first priority will always be our subscription games and retired boxes. This is just another offering we have on our site now.

+ Can I replay the game when finished or pass it off to friends for them to try?

No. Unlike our subscription games, these are one-time playthroughs. At the end of the game, you will be unable to play again. Once you start the game, you have 72 hours to complete the game before the game will automatically end.
